I, too, sing America.
I am that Mexican American you hear about.
They demand me to do the hard work
The type that people can’t be bothered with,
But it's fine,
And I do what I am told,
And I carry on.
In the future,
New rights will be granted for my family
When discrimination faces me
No one will dare
Say to me,
“Go and do my work,”
They’ll see how I am not a rapist or a menace to the world
And they’ll feel regret -
I, too am American.
Being American means that you are free and you have the liberty to complete and achieve your dreams. It means that you have the opportunity to complete great things if you work hard enough. The "American Life" is what people view as having a perfect life. People view America as it being a place where dreams come true: that everyone's lives in America are perfect. The "american Life" is a mirage that people view when their stuck at a point in their lives. Foreigners come to the United States because they believe that they can achieve the "American Life". he "American life" is what people hold on to and it gives people hope because they have this vision of rags to riches and that anything is possible. Being American means that you are accepted by everyone and you have no defect. You have the liberty to do what you want and you have no limitations. You can have a better life and future. Being American means that you should have the same amount of respect as anyone no matter your race, religion, or sexual preference. Your natural right are respected. Being American is obeying the law but at the same time changing it.
Rene Descartes thought that you should doubt everything but then find ways to prove it true. The mind is an irrefutable truth, is always true and won't change but your perspective changes. You can view a drawing and there could be something else, It could be a tree top, broccoli, or something completely different. Your perception will always be a doubt. Your mind doesn't trick you like your senses do which is why you perceive something differently than others.
The abstract art is a representation of influence. The dark colors signify the negative influences and the colorful side of the art signifys the positive influences. There are some bright colors in the dark side and some dark colors in the colorful side because some positive infuences can be seen as negative influences by others and some negative influences can be seen as positive influences. An example of influence can be beauty because on the positive side it can teach women how to apply make up and how to be natural with some make up on but on the other hand beauty can be a negative influence because of the standards that it has, women can become anorexic or bulimic based on how the beauty standard is and being either of those two things is bad.
After reading Rene Descartes phisophical reading, I know have a bigger clue as to what "cogito ergo sum" (I think therefore I am) means. Rene Descartes always thought that you should doubt everything first and ask questions to make sure that something is an irrefutable truth. For example the mind is an irrefutable truth because it 100% real and you can't doubt that you exist. Your senses, on the other hand aren't irrefutable truths because the way you sense objects can be different from the way somebody else senses them. After examining the reading, I now think that "I think therefore I am" means that since you're thinking that you exists means you exist and that it's true because your mind is an irrefutable truth so it's always true and it won't be doubted.
